Please refer to correspondence

resting with Kirkness's letter of the

29th July 1949 to Jefferis about claims

arising from the requisitioning of railway materials in Hong Kong in 1941.

I now enclose a copy of Hong Kong

savingram No. 974 in reply to our

savingram No. 235, which you will wish

to consider.

It largely speaks for

itself, but we would put forward the

following comments.

2. Paragraphs 1 6. The points

at issue on the claims by the Government

of Hong Kong are reduced to that over

item 3 in the Kowloon-Canton Railway

(British Section) claim, relating to work done on the 600 Chinese trucks.
